TIFF to JPG Converter
Convert the first page of a supported classic TIFF to JPEG locally, with quality and transparency-background settings.
When to use TIFF to JPG
Create an ordinary JPEG from a supported TIFF page. A multipage TIFF exports only page one; no other page is silently substituted or combined.
How to convert
- Choose or drop one local TIFF image. Review the detected dimensions and file size.
- Choose the output quality. Choose a background for transparent pixels; white is the default.
- Select Convert to JPG. Review the actual output preview, dimensions and file size, then download it.
What changes in the output?
Supports classic TIFF chunky strips with uncompressed, LZW, Deflate or PackBits storage; 1/8-bit grayscale, 8-bit palette, and 8-bit RGB/RGBA with unassociated alpha. Deflate expansion and LZW/PackBits output lengths are checked against the declared strip size. Up to 4 million pixels per page, eight directories and 12 million aggregate directory pixels. BigTIFF, RAW, CMYK, tiled/planar data, JPEG-in-TIFF, other bit depths and nested image metadata are rejected explicitly. Orientation 1–8 is applied once; transparency uses white or the selected background.
EXIF orientation is applied once to the pixels. Source metadata is not copied into the new file. Browser color conversion and an sRGB canvas may change embedded profile handling; this is not an archival color-preservation tool.
Image codec licenses, notices and source availability. Only a codec required by this conversion loads; files stay in this browser.
Limits, privacy and browser support
JPG, PNG and WebP use native browser decoders and encoders where an actual local probe succeeds. Unsupported encoders produce an error; a PNG fallback is never renamed as another format. Animated PNG and WebP are rejected by these static converters. Corrupted and unsupported variants can fail even when a filename looks correct.
The local service estimates processing memory and allows one job at a time. Very large dimensions or memory requirements are rejected before decoding. The estimate is not a measurement of peak browser memory. Encoding has a 30-second deadline and output is capped at 64 MiB. The worker, bitmap and canvas are released after each job. Preview and download URLs stay valid until replacement, reset or navigation, when they are revoked.
Your selected file and converted result stay in this browser. No automatic saving, background upload or remote conversion service is used.
