PNG to JPG Converter
Convert PNG to JPEG locally with quality and background-color settings. Transparent pixels are composited against the selected background.
When to use PNG to JPG
Choose JPEG for a photographic PNG when a smaller, widely supported image is useful. Text, diagrams and sharp edges can lose detail under JPEG compression.
How to convert
- Choose or drop one local PNG image. Review the detected dimensions and file size.
- Choose the output quality. Choose a background for transparent pixels; white is the default.
- Select Convert to JPG. Review the actual output preview, dimensions and file size, then download it.
What changes in the output?
JPEG cannot store transparency. The default background is white; choose a different color before converting if your PNG has transparent or partly transparent pixels.
EXIF orientation is applied once to the pixels. Source metadata is not copied into the new file. Browser color conversion and an sRGB canvas may change embedded profile handling; this is not an archival color-preservation tool.
Limits, privacy and browser support
JPG, PNG and WebP use native browser decoders and encoders where an actual local probe succeeds. Unsupported encoders produce an error; a PNG fallback is never renamed as another format. Animated PNG and WebP are rejected by these static converters. Corrupted and unsupported variants can fail even when a filename looks correct.
The local service estimates processing memory and allows one job at a time. Very large dimensions or memory requirements are rejected before decoding. The estimate is not a measurement of peak browser memory. Encoding has a 30-second deadline and output is capped at 64 MiB. The worker, bitmap and canvas are released after each job. Preview and download URLs stay valid until replacement, reset or navigation, when they are revoked.
Your selected file and converted result stay in this browser. No automatic saving, background upload or remote conversion service is used.
