How to use this tool

Choose whitespace or comma separation and select population or sample standard deviation.
Paste between 1 and 10,000 finite numbers, or choose Load example. Decimal points use a dot.
Select Calculate statistics. Review the selected deviation definition and the precision warning before using the result.

Scope and limits

Maximum 100,000 UTF-16 characters and 10,000 numbers. Empty input, empty comma-separated cells, non-finite values and invalid numeric tokens are rejected. Currency symbols, percent signs and localized thousands separators are unsupported.

Calculations use finite IEEE 754 double-precision numbers in Rust. Sum accumulates the parsed binary values exactly and rounds once; mean and deviation remain approximate. Displayed numbers use up to 15 significant digits; this is not exact decimal arithmetic. Extreme inputs whose summaries cannot be represented are rejected.

Population deviation uses n; sample deviation uses n − 1. A one-value sample has undefined sample standard deviation. Missing values are not silently removed. This is a descriptive summary, not a statistical inference, confidence interval or decision recommendation.

Inputs start empty. Load example fills them only when you choose it. Reset clears every text field and output. Cancel stops the worker and keeps your input.

Processing runs locally. This tool does not upload or autosave your input. The site can load consent-controlled third-party services; use nonsensitive test input and keep passwords, tokens and personal records out of these fields.

The population variance is 1.25. Choosing sample deviation divides the squared deviations by 3 and gives approximately 1.29099444873581.
